Great News – Ticketmaster Is Closing Down Seatwave In October

Jen

Finally.

Ticketmaster will close its ticket resale site, Seatwave, in October in an effort to tackle ticket touting.

In recent years, “professional Sellers” have used the site to sell tickets at extremely inflated prices.

According to BBC News, you will be allowed sell back tickets directly on Ticketmaster.

Despite being allowed to resell the tickets on Ticketmaster, sellers will only be allowed sell them for face value or less.

However, a 15% charge will be added to the price to cover booking fees paid by the seller.

The website will show new tickets in blue and second-hand tickets in pink in an effort to be transparent with customers.

This comes on the back of an anti-touting bill introduced by TDs Noel Rock and Stephen Donnelly and accepted by cabinet last month.
