Here’s what’s new on Netflix for your rainy Sunday at home

James Fenton

Sunday has always been a day for chilling but rainy Sundays? Well, ya best not even think about getting off the sofa except for turning the heating on and making tea.

Much of Ireland is under a rain warning for the rest of the day and it seems that what you see out your window is only going to get worse. The good news is that Netflix has served up plenty of new material to get stuck into this weekend and you can take your pick from the list below.

David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet

Available from today, the legendary naturalist brings us a new documentary which addresses the biggest challenges facing humanity, with a powerful message of hope for future generations. You can read more about Attenborough’s latest work here.

Emily in Paris

Lily Collins stars as Emily, an ambitious twenty-something marketing executive from Chicago, who unexpectedly lands her dream job in Paris when her company acquires a French luxury marketing company. Throughout the 10-episode series, she makes friends, she deals with difficult work colleagues and she embarks on romances. Quality rainy Sunday afternoon fare if you ask me.

The Boys in The Band

A movie based on the 1968 play of the same name by Mart Crowley. A group of friends gather for a birthday party which is upended when one guest turns up unannounced.

Vampires Vs. The Bronx

A comedy horror in which a group of friends from the Bronx fight to save their neighbourhood from a band of vampires. Because of course.

American Murder: The Family Next Door

A true crime documentary about the 2018 Watts family murders in Colorado. It’s a pretty heartbreaking watch and you can read more about it in our review here.
