Hozier has confirmed that his widely-acclaimed performance of The Parting Glass on The Late Late Show earlier last month will be released as a charity single.
Wicklow singer-songwriter Hozier wowed the nation a few weeks back with a stirring performance of The Parting Glass on the night that Leo Varadkar announced stringent social distancing restrictions to combat the spread of Covid-19.
It was a solemn evening for many as the reality of the situation hit home and Hozier’s rendition very much captured the mood of the nation. If you missed it, you can catch it in the clip below…
Goosebump-inducing stuff. This morning, it has been announced that the performance will be released as a charity single, with all proceeds going towards Childline, who are seeing a large increase in calls during this period of social isolation.
Happy to announce the performance of the Parting Glass from @RTELateLateShow will be out this Friday on all platforms with all proceeds going to @ISPCCChildline. Thanks to @rte for their support. pic.twitter.com/kY8vGY6i3v
