In one of the more entertaining news we’ve heard today, it turns out that Boyzone star Keith Duffy turned down a major acting role in Game of Throne – because he didn’t want to let down his friend and ‘brother’, Brian McFadden.
The 42-year-old Dubliner told The Scottish Sun that “I was asked to audition for a very big part in season seven of Game Of Thrones last October, but we had already signed up for the Boyzlife tour. Brian is like a brother to me and there was no question I would pull out.”
Keith has has several previous acting roles, including a part in Coronation Street, playing chef Ciarán McCarthy for ten years in the British soap, and he also made appearances in Irish soap Fair City and medical drama The Clinic.
Keith Duffy and Brian McFadden joined forces to create Boyzlife after their Boyzone and Westlife success.
According to the Boyzlife website, “the new exciting show will be packed full of untold stories, further Westlife & Boyzone hits not yet performed by Brian and Keith together, as well as many favourites from the previous tour… plus a few surprises!”
The band’s tour will land in Ireland for a few dates in May, so get those tickets quick if you want to see the man who said no to starring in the hugely popular HBO show.
