Darren Conway’s videos have been steadily gaining momentum in the last few months and last night he got a ringing endorsement from ‘America’s Sweetheart’ himself, Lewis Capaldi.

Dublin comedian Darren Conway has been making online content since 2014 when he began posting videos on Facebook and YouTube. After some years of “slow growth”, as he told Lovin.ie, his popularity has ballooned in recent weeks and months, thanks largely to some excellent General Election content and some positive feedback from Sinn Fein leader Mary Lou McDonald. Capaldi, who recently referred to himself as ‘America’s Sweetheart‘, is now also a big fan.

If you’re still not familiar with Darren’s work, you can get a glimpse of his irreverent style of humour in the clip below…

It would seem that Mary Lou isn’t the only fan of Darren’s as recent double-Brit Award winner Lewis Capaldi has now also responded to his work. Well, it’s Darren’s friends work really but Darren is the one who shared a clip of his mate’s warbling impression of the Scottish singer to his near-20,000 Twitter followers…

It took Lewis a few days to respond but when he did he confirmed that he thought Darren’s pal is ‘a true talent’…

Telling Lovin about Lewis’ reply, Darren said “It was just strange, it’s Lewis Capaldi like. I told my mate about the reply but he hasn’t responded yet. He’s a lazy f*cker!”

Darren added that he’s been blown away by the responses to his content in recent months, saying: “It’s been mad, I posted a comedic clip about Sinn Fein and when Mary Lou started replying, it really took off from there.”

With celebs as big as Lewis acknowledging Darran and his pals, it seems his profile is only going to get bigger. You can keep up to date with Darren’s work on Twitter here and on Instagram here.
