Lizzo shows off Irish slang during Graham Norton appearance

Katy Thornton

“We can have some craic, but I’m not going to offer you craic.”

If you thought Lizzo’s appearance on The Graham Norton Show was going to be anything other than iconic, then you were sorely mistaken. The singer appeared on the talk show in February, alongside Salma Hayek Pinault, Shania Twain, Julianne Moore, Johannes Radebe, and Tom Grennan, an absolutely star-studded line-up.

Graham was asking Lizzo how she was liking the UK, and if she was speaking the language, and we’ll forgive Lizzo for getting her UK and Irish slang mixed up given how Norton asked the question.

She quickly starts saying an Irish fave, “craic” but gets a little confused in her delivery.

Lizzo says, “You wanna do craic” to Graham, to which he quickly responds, “We can have some craic, but I’m not gonna offer you craic.”

Lizzo absolutely cracks up (no pun intended) at her mistake, to which Norton says it’s sometimes good to put “good” in front of craic. Which only leads to Lizzo saying, “That’s some good craic” to which Norton responds, “baby steps”.

I think we were all having some good craic watching this. What’s possibly better is Salma Hayek attempting to follow the conversation and looking visibly confused.
