Marian Keyes is releasing a sequel to one of her most beloved books – 25 years after it was written

17th August 2021

Fiona Frawley

25 years ago, Marian Keyes captured the hearts of the nation with her book Rachel's Holiday.

It's the story of Rachel, a 27 year old woman from a chaotic family of seven who's been shipped off to Dublin's answer to the Betty Ford clinic after getting caught up in the world of sex, drugs and rock and roll. The Walsh family are the main focus of the book, and have a special place in so many of our hearts. If you've read the book you'll know how easily the five Walsh sisters suck you in, and will have definitely spent hours with your own friend group trying to work out whether you're more of a Helen or a Claire. Since the original book release we've all been dying to know what Rachel's been up to, but Marian famously doesn't believe in sequels. Actually scrap that, she's changed her mind. https://www.instagram.com/p/CSq7YpGDIWm/ Marian took to the gram today to let us know she's only gone and written a sequel, and it'll be out early next year - the 17th of February, to be exact. Cheeky Valentines present for the Keyes lover in your life, perhaps? The book is called Again, Rachel and is set in approx 2018, before the "pesky covids" as Marian puts it. All our old faves will make a reappearance - Mammy Walsh, Daddy Walsh, all the sisters and even THE Luke Costello (!) In the exciting post, Marian said  "Rachel's Holiday has meant a lot to many people and I've tried my hardest to honour your trust in this new book". We can't wait to see what Rachel's been up to since we last saw her! Header image via Instagram/Marian Keyes  READ NEXT: Mariah Carey gives a nod to her Irish heritage as she launches new liqueur
