Possibly the most wholesome television personality that has ever existed is apparently living her tourist fantasy in Cork today.

Mary Berry was spotted floating about the English market in Cork City Centre today.

The 84-year-old former Great British Bake Off judge was seen chatting away to market stall owners, most notably fishmonger Pat O’Connell.

He told Cork Beo, “Very nice woman to talk to and very down to earth.

“She was here for an event in the Farmgate Cafe and came around to talk to a load of stalls.”

He added, “Mary told me that she actually worked in a fish market many moons ago, back when she was in college and that gave us a lot to talk about!

“She loved it here. She said that she loved the English Market and the selection of local produce that we have available.”

He also tweeted a photo of himself and the star.

And it turns out, Mary actually has a brand new range of salad dressings that are available from Mr Bell’s Food Emporium in the English Market.

Mary’s management have confirmed that she visited the market for business purposes.
