Along with everyone else in this country and even the odd straggler from the UK, I’ve been following Maura Higgins romantic life with interest ever since she first landed on the island of love.
We watched with delight when she ripped Tom a new one after the All Mouth™ debacle of 2018, with confusion when she chose to pursue Curtis of all people, and with what could be considered an obsessive amount of interest when she announced her relationship with long time bestie Chris Taylor last November. Admittedly, we probably got a bit too invested in that pairing, but there was a global pandemic and we needed something to live for.

Basically, we want the best for Maura. We want her to be getting the ride on a regular basis with someone who gives her more flutters than a butterfly wildlife preserve. Which is why we’re alive with intrigue after seeing her hold a mystery guy’s hand on her story last night.
The story doesn’t give much away other than the fact this chap has a bit of a nail biting issue, but that hasn’t stopped a frenzy of speculation that it could be Strictly Come Dancing professional Giovanni Pernice, who Maura’s been linked to recently since he supposedly slid into her dms. I’m not surprised, it would absolutely be Maura’s style to back the Italians as they’re about to go head to head with England this weekend, like a true Irish patriot. More as we have it.
