6 Absolute Classics Recently Added To Netflix You Should Watch This Week

It’s lashing rain, our heads are still absolutely pounding after the Bank Holiday weekend and the thoughts of having to get through a week of work is making us seriously blue.

Thank chriiiist than that Netflix have been popping up a few nice movies that have stood the test of time (and some more recent ones) to keep us from falling into the deep dark abyss of adulthood – here’s what to watch this week:

1. Kevin And Perry Go Large

Kevin and Perry are two 15-year-old boys whose desperation to lose their virginity is so great that it inspires a sort of awe.

In the rare moments when they’re not thinking about girls, Kevin dreams of being a singer, and Perry has ambitions toward becoming a dance music DJ.

When Kevin and Perry manage to stop a bank robbery, they’re given a sizable cash reward, and they decide to go on a holiday in Ibiza, and if you haven’t seen this classic already be ready for the vodka in eye scene… Ouch.

2. Austin Powers In Goldmember

Teaming up with the mysterious yet peculiar Goldmember, Dr. Evil hatches a time-traveling scheme to take over the world, one that involves the kidnapping of Nigel Powers, Austin’s beloved father and England’s most renowned spy.

As he chases the villains through time, Austin visits 1975 and joins forces with his old flame, Foxxy Cleopatra, a streetwise but stylish detective.

What’s not to love about this?

3. The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas

Warning: if you don’t want to bawl your eyes out give this a miss 🙁

During World War II, 8-year-old Bruno and his family leave Berlin to take up residence near the concentration camp where his father has just become commandant.

Unhappy and lonely, he wanders out behind his house one day and finds Shmuel, a Jewish boy of his age. Though the barbed-wire fence of the camp separates them, the boys begin a forbidden friendship, oblivious to the real nature of their surroundings.

4. Saving Banksy

Saving Banksy opens by serving its plot up for debate. “What would you do if you found a million dollar Banksy spray-painted on the side of your house?”

This fascinating documentary tells the story of how a misguided art collector tried to save Banky’s famous Haight Street Rat painting in San Francisco from destruction, and gives an inside view into street art and the graffiti world.

5. The Captive

Eight years after the disappearance of Cassandra, some disturbing incidents seem to indicate that she’s still alive.

In this Canadian thriller, police, parents and even (spookily) Cassandra herself, try to unravel the mystery of her disappearance.

Starring Ryan Reynolds and Rosario Dawson, this is a real gripper of a flick.

6. Sleeping With The Enemy

After faking her death in order to flee from her violent husband Martin, Laura Burney leaves Cape Cod and moves to Iowa, where she adopts a new identity and starts dating a local teacher.

Martin, meanwhile, unearths evidence suggesting that she isn’t dead, and when her mother confirms this, he tracks her to Iowa.

Julia Roberts is *fire emoji* in this tense thriller.
