WATCH: This Irish Trad Group Helped Ed Sheeran Close Glastonbury With An Amazing Performance

As musical career highlights go, performing on the main stage at Glastonbury on a Sunday night is pretty high on the list.

Not many performers get to do it and it’s even rarer for an Irish trad band to be bestowed with the honour. For a quintet formed in Kerry in 2002, that’s exactly what happened last night.

Beoga, who contributed to Ed Sheeran’s song Nancy Mulligan, were invited on stage by the songster to perform the hit which tells the story of how Ed’s Irish grandparents met and fell in love.

While Sheeran’s performance received some online criticism, a lot of which was unjustified to be fair, Beoga appeared to have a great time wowing the crowd of over 100,000 people in the Somerset field.
