Brb, crying in Fairview Park.
Ever since Olivia Rodrigo was spotted enjoying a crepe in a Cork City Ginos, it became clear her visit to Ireland would be an exciting one. She went onto dub her sold-out gig in Cork’s Marquee as “one of the most fun shows I’ve played in my life”, adding “Jeez, Cork, you might be the best crowd I’ve ever seen in my life” – proving that although this was her first time in Ireland, she obviously knows the way to a Cork person’s heart.
Meanwhile in Dublin, Olivia busted out a Nothing Compares 2 U cover which has been described as ‘sensational’.

I didn’t expect to be crying at 9:30am on a Friday over a video of a 19 year old, but there you go.

Just heard Olivia Rodrigo's cover of Nothing Compares To You from my Fairview apartment and I have such severe jealousy of everyone at that concert right now 💕

Both of Olivia Rodrigo’s Irish shows sold out instantly, with fans desperately seeking resales online. Similarly to those who were in attendance at Lizzo’s 2019 Olympia show, those who were lucky enough to nab tickets to this tour definitely experienced something unique – next time Olivia is here, she’ll undoubtedly be in an arena.
And now, to play us out, here she is wearing a tricolour feathered cowboy hat. Because she just gets us.
