Following on from Boris Johnson’s announcement that the UK will be rid of Covid-19 restrictions by June, it has been confirmed that the Reading and Leeds Festival will return this summer.

Much like every other event in 2020, the Reading and Leeds Festival was cancelled last year due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, it was announced this morning that the festival will go ahead at both venues this coming August.

Earlier this week, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that it is hoped that the country will end all Covid-19 restrictions on June 21 and Reading and Leeds have wasted no time by posting this morning to say: ‘Following the government’s recent announcement, we can’t wait to get back to the fields this summer.’

This year’s line-up will include acts that were supposed to perform last year, including Liam Gallagher and Stormzy and there will also be appearances from the like of Queens of the Stone Age, Lewis Capaldi, Gerry Cinnamon, Disclosure and many more.

The Reading and Leeds Festival is a pair of events that take place simultaneously on an annual basis over the UK August Bank Holiday.
