He’s working his way through The Crown cast members like nobody’s business.

We’ve only just recently heard the news that everyone’s favourite silver chain wearing heartthrob Paul Mescal was set to feature in a film with The Crown’s Olivia Colman, and it’s been confirmed his next role will be opposite Josh O’Connor, who plays Prince Charles in the Royal Family drama.

The film, The History of Sound by production company End Cue is the retelling of a short story by author Ben Shattuck. The story follows two young men, Lionel and David who, during WWI, set out to record the lives, voices and music of their countrymen. Oliver Hermanus who will direct the film, had this to say about the two young actors when speaking to The Hollywood Reporter:

Paul and Josh are two of the most promising actors of their generation who will share with us deeply soulful performances. This is an unexpected love story that needs to be told — it is a journey through the life of America, across the 20th century and the traditions of American folk music, all seen through the bond between two men immersed in the history of sound. This undeniably powerful story will certainly resonate with audiences the world over.

You know what Paul Mescal officially breaking America means. We’re about to see the Kardashians out and about in Kildare GAA shorts in no time.
