Ray D’Arcy reveals details of The Den reunion with Zig and Zag

James Fenton

Zig and Zag are set to reunite with their old pal Ray D’Arcy as part of RTE Does Comic Relief later this month and the former presenter of The Den has been revealing some details.

For anyone who grew up from the late 80s to the mid 90s, watching Zig and Zag on The Den was a staple of weekday afternoons, after your homework was done, of course. Who could forget the Planet Zog-born pair’s range of catchy chart-toppers or Ray’s infamous scraps with his arch-nemesis Ted? And that’s before we even mention the antics of Zuppy, Zig and Zag’s lovable pet dog.

Well, fans will get to relive it all on Friday, June 26 and Ray told listeners to his radio show yesterday what they can expect. “I’ve changed, they haven’t,” “It’s going to be a bit of craic. It’s going to be a bit of fun.”

D’Arcy added that Dustin The Turkey will also be along for the ride, saying “Dustin is building a set that will look something like the one from 1990.” The question is, how many tea breaks will he be taking?

Ray also said that people can share their memories of The Den by emailing him at [email protected]. “We might be Zooming you on the night,” he added so make sure your laptop is up and running.

Of course, we’re massive fans of The Den here at Lovin and we can’t wait to see what the reunion has in store. You can have a read through our favourite memories of The Den here.
