These are the six best movies on TV tonight

James Fenton

It’s the last Monday of what seems like a very long January and we’ve all earned some good quality time with a few movies on TV.

Tonight’s movies on TV include some classic comedies, a bit of action and some thrillers thrown in to get the pulses racing. Coincidentally, most of our featured flicks start at 9pm tonight so if there is more than one that tickles your fancy, you best press the record button.

Here are the six best movies on TV tonight…

Napoleon Dynamite – 9pm – Comedy Central Extra

The 2004 comedy went on to gain cult status and is always good for a rewatch.

Kevin and Perry Go Large – 9pm – Comedy Central

The stroppy Harry Enfield creations take their hormonal misadventures to Ibiza in search of DJ work and “guaranteed sex”.

Mission: Impossible – 9pm – Sky One

Tom Cruise’s first outing as Ethan Hunt, who is tasked with uncovering the mole who has framed him for the murders of most of his Impossible Missions Force (IMF) team. Memorable special effects and high-tension moments aplenty.

All the Money in the World – 9pm – Film4

A 2017 crime thriller starring Michelle Williams, Christopher Plummer and Mark Wahlberg.

Atomic Blonde – 9.30pm – TG4

Another 2017 thriller starring Charlize Theron and James McAvoy.
