We’re in for another season of trying to hide behind our pillows and read subtitles simultaneously.
When talking about Squid Game, Netflix sensation doesn’t quite cut it. The show that changed Netflix forever? Hmm. Maybe. The show that will live forever in the deepest, darkest corner of our minds? Possibly.
It’s hard to put into words quite how transfixed viewers all over the world became with Squid Game. Hwang Dong-hyu’s violent, colourful fever dream took the world by storm, with whatsapp groups and workplace zooms able to discuss little else the week it came out. Most of us binged the entire thing over the course of one weekend (the way the Netflix gods intended it), and were left gagging for more. Well good news, everybody. There’s more to come.

There’s been so much pressure, so much demand and so much love for a second season… I almost feel like you leave us no choice!
He also confirmed the news on his own Instagram with this post, the caption of which translates as “Are you guys excited?”:
