There Will Be Plenty Of Stars On Graham Norton And The Late Late Tonight

James Fenton

With half the country spicing up their lives at Croker tonight, the other half will be looking for something decent to watch on the telly. Who’s really winning?

Given that it’s Friday, Ryan Tubridy and Graham Norton will be on our screens with their usual mix of chats, entertainment and music.

On The Late Late Show, Tubs will be joined by Roz Purcell and her sister Rachel to discuss Rachel’s chronic myeloid leukaemia diagnosis and how it has changed the siblings’ outlook on life.

Football fans will be pleased to see Ireland legend Jon Walters, who will be telling Ryan about losing his mother when he was a child and how even in death she has influenced his career.

David Gough, the only openly gay GAA referee in the country will also be on, along with Joe Grogan whose son Shane was the victim of an unprovoked attack after the Galway Races in 2012.

Tenor and actor Colm Wilkinson will fill out a jam-packed show which will also feature music from The Coronas.

Meanwhile, over on Auntie Beeb, Graham Norton will be talking to Jessica Chastain, Sophie Turner, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and the one and only Taylor Swift.

As you’re on the sofa sipping your tea, the envy coming from Croke Park will be palpable. The Late Late Show starts at the usual time of 9.35pm on RTÉ One and The Graham Norton Show gets underway at an hour later on BBC One.
