The 2019 Late Late Toy Show hits our screens next week so it’s about time we had a little taster, don’t you think?
Thankfully, RTÉ has delivered just that by unveiling the promo for this year’s extravaganza. Featuring a young boy quizzing his mam on Toy Shows of years gone by, it will leave viewers reminiscing on their own favourite memories.
There’s also a lovely tribute to the original Toy Show host Gay Byrne, who passed away earlier this month. For 23 years, Gaybo was synonymous with the annual toy fest and RTÉ haven’t forgotten him with this year’s promo.

It’s only fitting that Gaybo’s stamp should be on the first Toy Show since he passed away. Ryan Tubridy will take the reins for the 11th time this year and viewers will be hoping for a repeat of his grand entrance from 2018…
The 2019 Late Late Toy Show will air next Friday, November 29 on RTÉ One and we can expect the usual mix of musical performances, the year’s top toys and, of course, the most adorable kids in the country.
The only question is, which sports stars and/or celebs are being lined up to surprise this year’s participating youngsters? You know, the moments like little Domhnall asking Robbie Keane “how are you so good at soccer?”
Or who could forget Aimee having the life frightened out of her by Ed Sheeran?
Whatever happens, there’s bound to be a tribute to Gay Byrne somewhere along the way.
