There’s a Twitter thread showing what every Irish Taoiseach would look like as socks

We wait with bated breath to see what they’d all look like as teabags.

It’s been 7 hours and… 2 days since Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom Liz Truss referred to the Taoiseach as “tea sock” and by all accounts, the country will never be the same again.

The clip has gone viral, the memes are out in full force and naturally, the next step could only ever be a Twitter thread outlining what every Irish Taoiseach in the history of the state would look like as a pair of socks.

Reader in Constitutional Law Dr Alan Greene has boldly stepped up to the plate, providing us with a sock for every Taoiseach from Cosgrave to Martin, and it has to be said, he’s fairly nailed it.

Interestingly, no toe socks made the cut. Maybe Irish politics just isn’t ready for that level of chaos – who can say for sure.
