There are some very, VERY good movies on the TV tonight!

Today is Ryan Gosling’s 40th birthday, and to celebrate there are not one but TWO of his best movies on TV tonight!

Non-Stop – FilmFour – 6.55pm

Liam Neeson is the US Air Marshall who is told to make sure the government transfers a $150 million to an off-shore account, or a passenger on his flight will be killed every 20 minutes. Co-stars Julianne Moore, Lupita Nyong’o, and Scoot McNairy.

Blade Runner 2049 – ITV4 – 9pm

The first of the Gosling movies is the long-awaited sequel to the sci-fi classic, and it is without a doubt one of the very best looking movies ever made. Gosling is a detective attempting to make sense of a particularly complicated case involving synthetic humans, and it may lead him back to the Harrison Ford’s original investigations.

The Post – FilmFour – 9pm

Steven Spielberg directs Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep in this true story of the editor and owner of The Washington Post and their attempts to expose a massive cover-up of government secrets that spanned three decades and four U.S. Presidents.

Tremors – Horror Channel – 9pm

A classic 80s monster movie, with Kevin Bacon leading a group of small town locals (and a scientist who happens to be nearby) who suddenly find themselves under siege by a family of huge underground worms.

Sabotage – FilmFour – 11.15pm

Arnie, Olivia Williams, Sam Worthington and more are members of an elite DEA task force that find themselves being taken down one by one after they rob a drug cartel safe house.

The Nice Guys – ITV4 – 12.10am

The second of the Gosling movies is a hilarious buddy cop comedy-action-thriller, as he teams up with Russell Crowe in order to get the bottom of the case of a missing girl. It is very much in the mould of Lethal Weapon, but set in 1970s Hollywood.
