This Podcast About One Of Ireland’s Most Notorious Unsolved Murders Could Be The New ‘Serial’

seank

Schull in West Cork is quiet and idyllic seaside village, but it was once the setting of a brutal murder.

In December 1996, French film producer Sophie Toscan du Plantier was found dead in the driveway of her holiday home, her body savagely beaten. No one was ever convicted for the murder.

Created by Jennifer Forde and Sam Bungey, West Cork is a true-crime podcast in the vein of Serial and Making A Murderer which investigates why the 39-year-old woman was killed and who might have been behind it.

The 13-part series will delve into coverage of this strange case over the last 20 years and examine how the surrounding community was affected by the horrific event.

West Cork is released on Audible this February 8, you can listen to it for free if you have a subscription or if you signed up to a free 30-day trial.
