This New Whatsapp Feature Makes It a Lot Harder To Lie About Where You Are

The popular messaging app is set to launch a new feature that will allow you to share your ‘live location’ with friends.

Whatsapp announced yesterday that you will soon be able to share your current location which has been a popular feature on parent company, Facebook since it launched in May this year.

‘Live Location’ will allow your friends and family to see your location in real time and you can set it anywhere from 15 minutes to 8 hours.

You’ll also be able to share your live location in group chats as well. 

Which means lying about where you really are isn’t really an option when they know you can share your current location to prove it.

You can share your location on the app currently, but it doesn’t give a live feed like this one does.

All you have to do for this new feature, is go into a chat and under ‘location’ in the attach button, hit ‘share live location’. 

It could come in handy if you’re travelling home late at night by yourself and want someone to know where you are.

Whatsapp will be rolling out the new feature across iPhone and Android in the next few weeks.
