It’s Monday so we can’t be the only ones who just want to get home and put the feet up. Thankfully, TG4 is providing the perfect tonic to help us ease into the week.

The station is pulling out all the stops by airing one of the most acclaimed movies of the 21st century in the form of the Coen Brothers classic No Country For Old Men.

The thriller/western is based on Cormac McCarthy’s 2005 novel of the same name and revolves around a merciless killer on a mission to retrieve stolen cash from a drug deal. What follows is a gripping cat and mouse chase with outstanding performances from stars Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin and Tommy Lee Jones.

The movie picked up the 2007 Best Picture Academy Award, beating off stiff competition from There Will Be Blood, Michael Clayton, Juno and Atonement. As well as this, the Coen Brothers won for Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Director while Bardem won Best Supporting Actor for his role as crazed Anton Chigurh.

If you haven’t seen No Country For Old Men, it’s definitely one to tick off the bucket list and it gets underway on TG4 at 9.30pm tonight. Check out the trailer below.
