As national sporting treasures go here in Ireland, they don't get much better than Brian Kerr.
The former Republic Of Ireland manager is now best-known as a fountain of knowledge on all things football, both domestically and internationally. Currently, the Dubliner is over in Russia as part of RTÉ's World Cup commentary team and is doing a great job by all accounts. Well, most accounts.

Brian Kerr speaking with the accent of the place he comes from still annoys some people, it seems.

What the fuck is even wrong with you if you don’t like Brian Kerr?

If he's not throwing around colourful phrases, he's regaling viewers with anecdotes on subjects such as the spike in people wearing Peru jerseys in Drimnagh during the World Cup in 1982.
It's fair to say RTÉ was having none of the criticsism...
You might be in the minority here, Paul. Brian is much-loved. Not sure you can speak on behalf of the nation on this one!

Looks like Brian will be sticking around for a while, thankfully.
