Saoirse Ronan and Daniel Day-Lewis are both hotly tipped to be nominated for Academy Awards in 2018.
Variety magazine has predicted Ronan will be given the nod for her role in Lady Bird and Day-Lewis for his part in Phantom Thread.
The Hollywood mag thinks Ronan’s name will appear in the Best Actress category alongside Margot Robbie, Meryl Streep, Frances McDormand and Sally Hawkins.
According to their predictions, Day-Lewis will be nominated alongside Gary Oldman, Timothée Chalamet, James Franco and Denzel Washington.
Day-Lewis, who has dual Irish and British citizenship, announced earlier this year that he would be retiring from acting.
