Laura Whitmore teases Love Island bombshell ahead of new series

The day is upon us… Winter Love Island gets underway this evening.

For loyal (babe) Love Island viewers, several changes are expected to the usual dating reality show.

The most obvious change is that the new series will take place in winter, with 12 islanders set to kick the series off from Cape Town on Sunday night.

Another glaring difference is that there will be no Caroline Flack involvement as she decided to step away from her role as presenter due to the ongoing media backlash surrounding her arrest and assault charge last month.

Winter Love Island will instead be hosted by Bray woman, Laura Whitmore, who has teased a bombshell ahead of the first episode.

While Whitmore showed off the new villa for a segment on Good Morning Britain, it was noted that there were more beds than islanders in the bedroom.

“It’s almost like there might be a bombshell happening,” Whitmore hinted.

Whitmore has revealed how supportive Flack has been ever since it became clear that she would not be presenting the upcoming series.

“It was a little bit of a whirlwind. When Caroline stepped down she actually sent me a text message saying: ‘I really hope that you get to do this series’,” she told Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on This Morning.

“But then there’s the speculation in the papers and I don’t really know anything, I know as much as everyone else knows.

“It was just before Christmas and I was flying back to Ireland because it was my mum’s birthday, and I was at the airport and I got a phone call from my agent saying: ‘The producers from ITV would like to meet with you in a few hours’.”
