Space Force

Space Force arrives on Netflix at the end this month – nine days from now… but who’s counting?

Space Force is a Netflix original series set to hit Netflix later this month. Starring Steve Carell and Lisa Kudrow, the series is the Friends/Office crossover we always hoped would happen.

Brought to us by the co-creators of The US Office, Space Force is the latest project by Carell and his partner in crime Greg Daniels. Based on Donald Trump’s team of space military, the series tells the story of Mark R. Naird (played by Carell), a decorated pilot with dreams of running the Air Force.

Entrusted with the job of running the newly formed sixth branch of the US Armed Forces, he uproots his family – moving them to a remote base in Colorado where he works with a colourful team of scientists to get Americans back on the moon. Lisa Kudrow plays his on-screen wife, hopefully bringing some of the same characteristic magic she brought to her Friends’ character Phoebe to the role.

Described as a “new kind of workplace comedy”, the stakes are sky-high and the ambitions even higher. Premiering online on May 29th, Netflix has given us a sneak peek of what to expect, releasing a trailer for the show a little early.

Like what you see? Good thing there’s not long left to wait. The series is also getting its own podcast. Hosted by Jimmy O. Yang, the 10-part podcast is called Inside Joke and will see the star chat to some of the cast and crew behind the series with new episodes every Monday and Thursday.
