Sugar in tea, Coca-Cola or Pepsi, toilet paper under or over? Some of the greatest debates among people are over the most mundane things, yet it’s the toilet paper one that often causes the most arguments.
A strong advocate for the ‘over’ myself, I just can’t understand why anyone would deliberately place the toilet paper onto the holder in such a way that you have to scoot around the back of the roll to find the beginning of the paper. WHY.Â
It’s something that has been dividing mankind since the invention of the toilet roll holder (probably)…
#StupidThingsCouplesFightAbout over or under with the toilet paper roll.

This is the THIRD DAY in a row that I’ve gone to the bathroom and someone has put the toilet paper going under the roll instead of over. I don’t know who they are or what kind of sick game they’re playing, but I just want it to stop. I just want to do my business in peace

Well, an illustration from the original patent shows the correct way to place the paper.
The patent author of the toilet paper holder Seth Wheeler said: “In carrying out my invention the sheets of paper are only partially separated, having their points of attachment arranged in a novel manner.”Â
“Each sheet will easily separate from the series as it is drawn from the roll, there being no litter occasioned, and any waste of paper is thereby prevented.”Â
Yep… It’s official. OVER WINS.Â
