WATCH: Greg O’Shea Sets The Record Straight On Break-Up With Amber

James Fenton

Love Island fans would be forgiven for feeling a little hard done by after only two of three promised guests from the reality show appeared on The Late Late last night.

Ryan Tubridy was all set to welcome Irish pair Maura Higgins and Greg O’Shea as well as Greg’s fellow Love Island champion Amber Gill. However, news started to rumble yesterday that Greg and Amber were no longer an item, leaving RTÉ bosses and fans guessing as to whether the latter would be flying over from the UK for her scheduled appearance.

To make it all worse, reports suggested that Greg had ended the relationship via the noble method of sending a text message, leading to plenty of people tuning in to last night’s episode of the chat show in order to hear what he had to say for himself.

As it turned out, Amber did indeed stay away but the Limerick man came on to share his side of the story.

Denying that he had broken up with the Newcastle lass by text, Greg started by saying “don’t believe everything you read” before adding “me and Amber have been chatting the last couple of days, we’re mad about each other but you need to be realistic about the situation. She lives in the UK, every brand wants to work with her and I decided to come back to Ireland and do my thing here.”

When pressed by Ryan if he had dumped Amber by text, Greg said “it was over a long time, it wasn’t just this one text, I’m mad about her and I hope she’s mad about me. We’ll see about the future.”

Who says all the drama is limited to the villa? You can check out what Greg had to say in the clip below.
