Festive advertisements tend to have a bit of a reputation for pulling on the heartstrings and the SuperValu Christmas ad is no different – this year’s edition is a real tearjerker lads, you’ve been warned.
The Christmas ads are rolling in at lightning speed this year and I think it’s safe to say that there isn’t a dry eye in sight after SuperValu pulled the curtain up on their offering last night.
Premiering online for the first time yesterday evening, the ad follows a young boy and his family in the run-up to December 25th. Seen doing all the usual pre-Christmas traditions such as decorating the tree and doing “the big shop”, the strangeness of current times isn’t lost on the boy and he seems very concerned by all that’s going on in the world at the moment.
Reassured by his parents that things will be ok, he just has to trust the magic and well, we won’t spoil the ending for you but it’s a good ‘un.
Here’s what SuperValu had to say about it:
“Christmas may be a little different this year but we all know who makes it extra special. Whether you’re keeping old traditions or making new ones we all love a magical Christmas. You just have to Believe…”

Hitting us all right in the feels, it doesn’t seem like anyone is emotionally ok after watching it and my Twitter feed is awash with people seeking online support.
