First Dates Ireland returns to TV screens tonight and I, for one, can’t wait.
My social life these days consists of FaceTiming my sister and the weekly grocery shop, so needless to say, I’ll be living vicariously through the daters’ antics on the show.
Already sharing a trailer for what to expect throughout this season of the show, RTÉ advised that things will be “a little different” in the First Dates restaurant this time around. Several changes have been made to the usual setup of the show with some of those including staff wearing face masks, perspex panels in between daters and the use of longer, banquet-style tables to allow for proper social distancing to be maintained. As if first dates aren’t awkward enough…
Following that up with yet another sneak peek at what’s to come, tonight’s episode introduces us to Dubliner Amy. Ready to date after a year and a half of single life, she pulled out all the stops for the big day – revealing that she’d been prepping for the date for two whole weeks. Commitment or wha’?!
Tonight’s the night. Amy’s ready for her date in the First Dates restaurant.
The question: is her date ready for HER?#FirstDatesIRL | @RTEPlayer pic.twitter.com/fCkoORtXVy
