WATCH: We hear Princess Diana and Thatcher for the first time in the latest trailer for The Crown

James Fenton

The fourth series of The Crown gets released in just over two weeks and to whet your appetite, the Netflix drama has released a new trailer.

Allowing fans of The Crown to hear the voices of Margaret Thatcher (Gillian Anderson) and Princess Diana (Emma Corrin) for the first time, the trailer examines a number of relationships including that of Thatcher and Queen Elizabeth (Olivia Colman) as well as the Queen and her future daughter-in-law Diana.

The contrast in character between the ‘People’s Princess’ and the so-called ‘Iron Lady’ Prime Minister is there for all to see, with the former coming across as someone who just wants to be loved and the latter displaying a seemingly ruthless disdain for what people think of her.

It seems that the major political stories of the era, including The Troubles in Northern Ireland will be touched upon and you can watch the trailer below ahead of The Crown season 4 release on Sunday, November 15.
