This week’s Late Late Show is set to be a Daffodil Day special, with Jedward, Shane Filan and Oisin Kiernan among the guests.
For the second consecutive year, the traditional Daffodil Day fundraiser has had to be postponed due to Covid-19 restrictions. However, this week’s Late Late Show will mark the initiative in the hope of raising vital funds for the Irish Cancer Society.
We’ve already learned that X Factor legends Jedward will be shaving their trademark quiffs off during the show and it’s now been confirmed that they will be joined in the line-up by Westlife’s Shane Filan. Shane will speak about losing both his parents to cancer just 10 months apart as well as the pivotal work of the Irish Cancer Society in providing support for patients and families dealing with cancer. It would be a waste to have a Westlifer on the show and not get a tune out of him so Filan will also perform one of the group’s biggest hits in honour of his parents.
As well as that, host Ryan Tubridy will be joined by Cavan footballer Oisin Kiernan who will discuss his diagnosis and treatment for testicular cancer while offering advice for any young men watching.
Irish Cancer Society CEO Averil Power will appear alongside a number of the charity’s volunteers while Dublin quartet Inhaler, will be in studio to perform their latest hit single, Cheer Up Baby.
Daffodil Day takes place on Friday, March 26 and you can catch the Late Late Show on RTÉ One on the same day at 9.25pm. For more information on Daffodil Day and how you can help, see this link.
