A four-day gin festival is coming to Galway this June

Latin Quarter Gin Fest returns this summer

There’s nowhere quite like Galway on a sunny summer’s day.

Granted, those sunny days are few and far between, but that’s probably why they’re so special. People throng the streets all hoping to soak up that much needed Vitamin D.

Shop Street is mobbed, as is Quay Street and good luck trying to find a spot down at Spanish Arch as it’s usually standing room only – personal space is not a thing on a sunny day down at Sparch (as locals and blow-ins fondly refer to it).

If you’re less of a “bag of cans” type and more of a gin and tonic drinker, you’ll be most pleased to hear that the Latin Quarter Gin Fest is set for a grand return this June.

Fresh off its win as Gin Destination of the Year at this year’s Irish Gin awards, the event will coincide with World Gin Day on Saturday, June 13th.

A four-day celebration, the Galway Gin Fest puts the much loved G+T combo at the heart of the action and this year’s line-up is on course to be one of the festival’s best.

Falling right in the middle of Galway’s reign as the European Capital of culture, the festival will tie in with an already jam-packed summer schedule of events, promising to bring extra “gin-joyment” to the weekend.

Taking place both day and night across some of the Latin Quarter’s liveliest bars and restaurants – there will be loads of fun and interactive events, with the party even spilling out onto the streets at points.

Sure, Galway’s mad craic, don’t ya know?!

Highlights include master classes and tastings, gin cruises, gin afternoon tea, gin trails, food and gin pairings, gin cocktails and gin experientials to mention but a few (how many times can I say gin in one sentence?!).

A full programme of events for the Latin Quarter Gin Fest will be announced in the run-up to the festival.

When? Thursday, June 11th to Sunday, June 14th 2020… clear your schedules and let the fun beGIN.
