Explore Éire: This Incredible Lighthouse Is The Ideal Retreat From Reality

Éadaoin Fitzmaurice

I love being close to the sea – it’s one of the reasons I love Ireland so much, you’re never far from a beach.

Whenever I’m booking a trip away, this always comes into consideration.

This year, I’m spending time to get to know my own country and I urge you to join me on this journey. How many people do you know that have travelled and seen the world but they’ve not given the time to explore their home?

This seems crazy to me.

So here’s my best shot at giving you some internal travel inspo…

Welcome to Explore Éire, a weekly series showing of the coolest things to do and places to stay in the beautiful Emerald Isle!

This week we’re heading to the sunny (not so sunny atm) South East.

If there was ever a place that looked like the most tranquil and refreshing of all, this is it.

You’ll find this stunning lighthouse Airbnb in Wicklow.

This is ideal for a peaceful break away by the coastline. You’ll fall asleep listening to the waves and wake up looking out to the stunning Irish Sea. The scenic views around the lighthouse provide a perfect backdrop for a unique and unforgettable break.

The Lighthouse has 6 octagonal rooms and can host up to four guests. It would be a fab spot for a double date weekend break.

The lighthouse is located near Sliver Strand Beach, The Wicklow Way walking routes and Powerscourt garden and waterfall. If you’re a nature nut, you’ll be able to go on all those long walks and take endless Instagrams.

If you want to take a step away from the hustle and bustle of life, curl up in a quiet venue with no disturbances – feeling completely disconnected from the outside world, this seems like the perfect place.

This spot is in high demand online, so book it it in advance to avoid disappointment.
