A must-visit for anyone and everyone in and travelling to Kilkenny.

If you’re looking for a new spot to hit up for coffee and food, then follow these directions… Yes, we know it sounds like the beginning of a fairy tale, but you promise you it is very real…

Under a hawthorn tree, located on the Nore River, beside Thomastown Weir Pool, you will find Happy Valley Coffee.

The new speciality food and coffee box has opened in this beautiful location, and will be an absolute must-visit for anyone living in or travelling to Kilkenny.

The couple running the outlet, Eddie Murphy and Kasia Kaminska, told us that they are “Endeavouring to be as kind to their environment as possible, all of their ingredients are locally sourced, seasonal and organic and they use only biodegradable and compostable materials”, and they also “aim to showcase the work of local artists and craftspeople”.

If you’re wondering what you can try there, this is what they’ll be stocking: specialty coffee by Calendar Coffee, herbal teas by Intelligent Tea, jersey milk by Village Dairy, hot chocolate by chocolatier Truffle Fairy, cordials by Joan and Bobs Juicy Jams, salad and veggies by McNally Family Farm and Riversfield Farm, cheese by Corleggy Cheese, sweet treats by Olivia’s Yummy Raw Treats and freshly baked baps by Arán.

So, yeah, LOTS to try out!

Happy Valley Coffee is open Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 4pm, and from their Insta, it looks very dog friendly, too!
