“It’s not goodbye, it’s see you later!”

It’s been a difficult few weeks when it comes to hospitality headlines. There seems to be an overwhelming amount of negative news, from closures, to insane energy costs, resulting in some of Ireland’s best restaurants scrambling for a way to stay open. The latest of these is Darcy Twelve in Clifden, Galway, who have just announced that they are “pressing pause” while they figure out how to navigate around “a number of challenges“.

Some of the challenges facing the Galway restaurant include “uncertainty in a time of inflation, increasing business costs and acute staffing challenges“. Therefore they are taking some time to “refocus” and “consider” different options.

Darcy Twelve took the time to thank all of their loyal customers, hardworking staff, and the local Clifden community for all of their support. They will still be open for dinner and takeaway until the 5th November; make sure you pop into them before they officially press pause.

We look forward to seeing the Galway restaurant open once more once they have overcome these challenges. They finished their post off by saying, “It’s not goodbye, it’s see you later.”
