Kildare welcomes the return of iconic pub The Hideout

Katy Thornton

Kilcullen sees the return of an old favourite.

The newest bar to Kildare The Hideout is no new bar at all. Known to be the first museum pub in Ireland, The Hideout was a place for those travelling from Kilkenny and further south, and from Dublin going south to stop off and get some food. They were taken over by Jonathon Keogh in 2016 and reopened in 2017 after considerable refurbishment. During the many months of lockdown The Hideout Kilcullen was closed, but has seemingly now returned to the Kildare scene. You can read the whole history HERE.

Only back open a couple of weeks, they’re already making a splash with an influx of great reviews. This bar promises to be your new hideaway, perfect for a few drinks and some good pub grub.

The new Kildare bar is also a great spot to watch sports; The Hideout has HD screens which creates a class atmosphere as well as some lovely grub to go with it. They serve food until 9pm each night.

Their menu also includes food and drink combos to go with the sports on the telly. And if sport isn’t your thing (look, there’s no shame in it) The Hideout will also occasionally have live DJs performing.

Already wonderful reviews and comments are coming in from those who have checked out The Hideout. If you’re dying to try it out for yourself, whether it’s the first time, or you can make a booking HERE.

You can find The Hideout in Kilcullen on the Main Street.
