New foodie spot in Connemara with a focus on sustainable cooking and the cúpla focal

Fiona Frawley

Tá caifé bheag álainn le hoscailt inniu i nGaeltacht Chonamara!

Hopefully I didn’t butcher that, but this beautiful new cafe in Connemara’s Gaeltacht region has inspired me to revisit the ole LC Irish.

Pota is a dotey new spot in a thatched cottage right on the Wild Atlantic Way with a focus on sustainable, organic ingredients and locally sourced produce. They recently ran a successful pop-up on Sullivan’s Quay in Cork and now have found a new home out West – tá sí an-picturesque. You can already sense a big emphasis on community and craic from these guys, and they even have Irish translations for phrases you might use in a cafe for the more linguistically challenged among us (cough, me).

Definitely a spot to hit up this weekend for some craic agus snacks!
