Krispy Kreme announce opening of their first Cork branch

Huge news for the parish.

This week brings with it news donut loving Rebels have longed to hear – Original Glaze overlords Krispy Kreme have announced the opening of their first official store in Cork.

While the Irish donut obsession has ebbed and flowed over the past few years, it’s safe to say we as a nation remain as enamoured with Krispy Kreme as we were the first fateful night it stopped traffic in Blanchardstown back in 2018.

Over the past few months, Krispy have announced the opening of 18 new locations across Ireland – including several in Galway and the West of Ireland – but the news of a Cork store is a welcome bonus for ringed-dessert enthusiasts ahead of the weekend.

Krispy Kreme expect to lift the shutters on their Cork store on Patrick Street in the city this April, and will be sending street teams out to hand out free samples ahead of the official opening.

Speaking about the upcoming expansion for the American franchise, Country Manager for Krispy Kreme Ireland Declan Foley said:

Since our first Irish shop opening nearly 5 years ago in September 2018, we have loved every moment of spreading the joy of our made fresh daily doughnuts to the people of Ireland. We are delighted to now bring the Krispy Kreme experience to the people of Galway and Cork this Spring.”

“The Galway and Cork shops will serve the full range of hand-crafted Krispy Kreme doughnuts, including the much loved melt in the mouth Original Glazed and firm Irish favourites Cookies and Kreme, Lotus Biscoff, and Nutty Chocolatta.”

Will you be first in the queue at the grand opening?
