Indoor hospitality could return in early July according to comments made by Leo Varadkar today to the Committee on Enterprise.
An Tánaiste stated that he hoped that indoor dining will resume in early July while also offering an update on how outdoor hospitality will operate when it returns on June 7. On this, he said that “it will be seated only, with six to a table, tables probably a metre apart, no time limits and no requirement to buy a meal.”
He added that “we don’t anticipate that there will be a limit on how long you can stay but we haven’t made a decision on that yet. Fáilte Ireland guidelines will be issued soon.”
Indoor hospitality has been shut since the end of December, with pubs that don’t serve food remaining closed since March 2020. Varadkar also said that Government proposals on international travel are expected to be agreed next week.
