If You See This Award-Winning Brekkie Essential In Aldi – Grab It

Megan Cassidy

What, for you, is absolutely crucial to a good fry-up?

There are those who will lean towards the standout staples – the sausages, the rashers, the toast – and others who lean towards the consistency-givers – the beans, the runny eggs.

And then, there are those who are right. The ones who believe that no fry-up is ever complete without the black pudding.

Black pudding is so good, that for a while there we all tried to believe that it was an actual superfood. While it was quickly downgraded from its superfood status, it remains the most super food on our breakfast plate, hands down.

Now, Aldi is stocking one of the best black puddings on the Irish market, straight from Co. Cork.

McCarthy’s of Kanturk are the artisan butchers behind an award-winning black pudding that was actually served to Queen Elizabeth when she visited in 2011.

They say of their pudding, ‘This is a traditional pudding which will make your breakfast complete or a meal in itself.’

The pudding is now available in Aldi, but many are reporting they can’t get their hands on it at the rate it’s flying off the shelves.

Tim McCarthy, Fifth Generation Butcher at McCarthy’s Butchers Kanturk told us:

‘We’re delighted with the sales in Aldi so far. We are selling out across Munster with our loyal fans! The big wins have been the sales across Dublin and Donegal. We have been supplying Kanturk and Munster with top quality products since 1892 but it’s fantastic to be reaching a wider audience.’

There you go – if you see this on the shelves, grab it.
