An Post have been in great form of late, proving time and again that they don’t necessarily need a specific address in order to get letters delivered to the right place.
Following on from last week’s story that An Post delivered a letter to Co. Clare from Australia, which was basically just enclosed in an envelope with a description of the recipient written on it, they’ve pulled it out of the postbag again with this latest effort.
According to Echo Live, Dr Claudia Maria Wagner, who you might know from RTÉ show The Cat Hospital, and her partner Colm received a postcard which simply included their names followed by the words ‘she’s German and they’ve a rake of cats, near Garryvoe, Co. Cork.’

The card had a Portlaoise postmark on it and Claudia told the publication that “it had gone from friends of ours in East Cork to Portlaoise to the sorting centre and back down again to our home in Ladysbridge. The postie obviously had his wits about him.”
Another mission accomplished for the hard-working people at An Post. Who needs Eircodes at all?
