Whether you start decking the halls in early November or would rather just avoid the festive season altogether, the makers of this documentary want to speak to you.
Award-winning director Ken Wardrop is creating a new short documentary to shine a light on the impact Christmas has on our lives each year, both positive and negative. His previous work includes Cocooned, which celebrated the resilience of older people during lockdown, Making the Grade and His & Hers. His documentaries have previewed at some of the world’s most prestigious film festivals including Sundance and Cannes.

The casting call is for anyone with strong feelings about Christmas, “whether you’re the type of person who’s already completed their gift shopping or you’re one of the ones working up until Xmas eve and cursing the maddening crowds“. Could be one for your auntie who has the nativity crib set up all year round and buys all her pressies in the January sales. Could suit you if you work in retail and break out in a cold sweat if you hear the mere mention of the word Christmas. One for the people en masse, really.
