Galway City to Inis Mór ferry route launching this June

Rory Cashin

The new route will take you along the scenic route, passing by the Cliffs of Moher.

The days are getting longer, the nights are staying brighter, the weather is getting warmer and dryer (kind of), the restrictions are lifting, and more and more of us are getting vaccinated.

Summer 2021 will see people wanting to make more plans than maybe any other time in human history, to make up for that year-and-a-bit of being able to do practically nothing.

Staycations will be pretty high on the agenda, so the arrival of this brand new ferry route, going from Galway City to Inis Mór, will make for very welcome news to Irish vacationers!

The folks behind the new route had this to say about the trips you could potentially be taking this summer:

“Offering a 90-minute cruise on Galway Bay, Aran Island Ferries luxury vessels will showcase the contrasting beauty and scenery of the spectacular Wild Atlantic Way coastline of Connemara and Clare along with all three of the Aran Islands, Inis Oirr and Inis Meáin before docking in Kilronan on Inis Mór, the largest of the three Aran Islands.

“The return journey to Galway City will bring passengers on a cruise along the iconic Cliffs of Moher. Galwegians and visitors to the city of the tribes are set to enjoy a safe, all-weather experience of the jewels in the crown of Galway Bay this summer.”

The new route will begin taking passengers from Friday, June 4, and you can get all of your info on the tickets and bookings from the Aran Island Ferries website right here.
