Ireland’s ‘Unseen’ Winning Reaction As Credits Roll After Eurovision Qualification Is Exactly How We All Felt

Darragh Berry

The Eurovision captures the hearts of all Irish people. We don’t know, maybe it’s the fact that we were once the Manchester United of the Eurovision world, turning out winners like there was no tomorrow.

However, since the turn of the millennium, there hasn’t been too many memorable entrants for Ireland. Mickey Joe Harte was a diamond and he should have had the world that night in 2003 but he was robbed out of a famous win.

But, after a long time in the darkness of Semi-Final after Semi-Final, we’re finally back among the big dogs on the Saturday night slot after Ryan O’Shaughnessy bagged the last of the ten spots with his song ‘Together’.

Poor old Marty Whelan let out such a yelp when we scooped a last-gasp spot that it was something we could all relate to…

That was until we saw this piece of magic.

While we were all hitting the off button on the television and heading for the leaba, this eagle-eyed Eurovision fan was watching until the bitter end and found this Irish gem as the credits were rolling.

David Wilkinson, you sir are on the ball and when we win on Saturday, we’re going to play this over and over again.

‘Fuck Me’ is right. We left it late but it isn’t it great to be back in the Finals.
