The Primark/Penneys obsession is spreading on a global level.
Over the summer, Primark will open three new stores in the US, one at Green Acres Mall in Long Island, New York on June 22nd, one at The Mills at Jersey Gardens in Elizabeth, New Jersey on July 6th and and one at Crossgates Mall in Albany, New York on July 20th.
Primark says of their pending openings:
"Each of the three new stores will boast more than 33K square feet of retail selling space where shoppers can explore Primark’s unique range of fashion and accessories."
The arrival of these three new stores will bring the number of Primark stores to 428 globally; 20 Primarks have opened in the US since they entered the American market eight years ago in 2015. The goal is for America to have 60 Primark stores by 2026.
President of Primark US, Kevin Tulip, said this of the new stores:
"“The reception we’ve received as we’ve joined new communities in the US has been overwhelmingly positive, with lines of new customers waiting to meet us, so our team is so excited about the lineup of new stores we have to open this Summer. ‘Primania’ is spreading from New York to New Jersey and beyond, and these three new stores will answer the demand we’ve had for our amazing fashion at amazing prices in new communities in both states."
As a country who has been obsessed with Penneys/Primark since 1969, we always knew it would be beloved on a global scale.
