Share the love this National Hug Day with the help of Ronald McDonald House Charities

Fiona Frawley

Hot on the heels of Blue Monday is National Hug Day, which falls on the 21st of January.

Right about the time of year we’re all in need of a good hug, in fairness.

If you’d like to share a bit of love to celebrate National Hug Day this year, Ronald McDonald House Charities has you covered.

Ronald McDonald House Charities has launched an appeal for people to send a hug to their loved
ones in the lead up to National Hug Day and help keep the charity’s doors open through 2022. Anyone looking to get involved can do so by sending Barróg.

Barróg (Irish for “hug”) is the little grey teddy-bunny helping to support families whose children are ill in hospital. Send Barróg to someone you miss, and all proceeds from the purchase will go directly to supporting the families of sick children staying at The Ronald McDonald House.

The Ronald McDonald House provides accommodation and a supportive environment for
families whose children are seriously ill and receiving treatment at Crumlin Hospital. The charity enables families to stay together and be actively involved in their children’s day to day life while they are long term in hospital.

If you’d like to send a big hug to someone you love and support the Ronald McDonald House while you’re at it, you can purchase your own Barróg to send on HERE.
