Do you ever feel like all you do is work and those Bank Holidays just can’t come quickly enough?

It might be time to move to Denmark, because a new study has revealed it has the best work-life balance in Europe.

Website TotallyMoney looked at the working hours, salaries, cost of living and holiday allowances of countries across the continent, and the Scandinavian country fared extremely well.

Its citizens work just 32.9 hours a week and have 25 holiday days a year – minimum.

Us Irish, on the other hand, work 36 hours a week and have just 20 holiday days.

We have also nine Bank Holidays compared to Denmark’s 11, bringing us in at eleventh place in the work-life balance rankings.

The UK rated even lower than Ireland, despite the fact that the minimum holiday allowance there is 28 days.

The top ten countries were:

  1. Denmark
  2. Sweden
  3. Netherlands
  4. Finland
  5. France
  6. Spain
  7. Luxembourg
  8. Germany
  9. Austria
  10. Belgium

Northern Europe is calling, folks!
